New ABEN service in Hyndburn

Hyndburn Council have commissioned SSP to provide a new A Bed for Every Night (ABEN) service to help end rough sleeping in the area, initially for 12 months.

The service will have access to 5 fully furnished homes to provide overnight and temporary accommodation with personalised support to help customers address the issues and barriers they have in finding and sustaining homes and independent living.

The issue of homelessness and rough sleeping nationally has been highlighted this year, particularly during the Coronavirus crisis and the urgent responses to the crisis has shown how rough sleepers needs can be met. This service will complement existing services.

SSP already opeartes this model of working successfully in several areas of Greater Manchester and is delighted to extend our services into Hyndburn, working in partnership with the Council to be able to better meet the needs of rough sleepers and to support them to find their own permanent homes and sustain independent living.
