Stepping Stone Projects volunteers help our staff and Customer Forum to deliver services/development activities, and provide longer-term mentoring/befriending for customers when they leave our services.

Whilst we welcome all prospective volunteers, we do have a formal recruitment process, including an application form and interview to ensure that individuals are placed in suitable roles. The organisation will also seek two references and all applicants will need to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, formally known as a CRB check, prior to commencement of any volunteering activity. All volunteers will be given a Volunteer Agreement to clearly set out what is expected from both sides.
We will support you through the recruitment process and make sure you have a chance to learn about Stepping Stone Projects and the role that you will be volunteering in.
There are many different areas where you can volunteer, so whatever you’re interested in, we should be able to find a role that suits you best.
When you become a volunteer you are free to apply for paid work within Stepping Stone Projects, as and when positions become available.
You will get support to learn about Stepping Stone Projects and the work we do. You will also have regular meetings with the Operations Manager of the scheme in which you are involved. Stepping Stone Projects offers volunteers a wide range of training opportunities that can help you to develop your skills and knowledge.
