Empowering Independence: Our New Online Customer Portal

At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to providing the best possible support for our customers. Our mission is to help people move forward with their lives and live independently in their own homes—and our latest innovation is designed to do just that.
We’re proud to introduce our new online customer portal, a 24/7 digital platform created to promote independence and provide easy access to support and information. Developed in partnership with the team at Prodo Digital, this portal has been over a year in the making and officially launched in December 2024, receiving fantastic feedback.
Through the portal, customers can:
One of the key new features is our Guide to Independence Handbook—a step-by-step toolkit designed to support customers to progress their independent living skills. Customers can work through this handbook at their own pace, with guidance from their SSP worker. It includes practical modules on running a home, managing finances, staying safe and looking after health and wellbeing. There’s also a dedicated section for customers who are new to the UK, offering guidance on settling into life in a new country.

Community is an essential part of living well, and the portal also allows customers to sign up for our customer engagement events. These events are designed to reduce isolation and build meaningful connections, supporting the journey to independence and building our SSP community. Customers can also share feedback and ideas through the portal, helping us shape future services through co-production.
We understand that not everyone finds it easy to access technology. That’s why we’ve made the portal web-based and accessible from any device—including public computers in libraries. We’ve also removed the need for passwords by introducing secure one-time passcodes for easier sign-in.
To support this rollout, our team is being trained to help customers register and get the most out of the portal. We’ve designed everything with accessibility and simplicity in mind, breaking down barriers and ensuring more customers can benefit from this resource. The portal includes language translation, an important feature to support our diverse customer base.
