Janet Hardwick
Trustee
During her 40-year career in the social housing sector, Janet has been employed by several housing associations and a local authority. She worked in “general needs” housing management for 27 years and spent the rest of her time working in supported and sheltered housing. She has extensive experience of dealing with both staff and residents.
Prior to her retirement in 2017, Janet had management responsibility for the efficient running of 24 sheltered schemes that housed over 800 residents and associated teams of scheme-based sheltered housing staff.
She also managed her organisation’s supported housing portfolio, which comprised of over 60 buildings that accommodated in the region of 1,000 vulnerable residents. Her range of skills and knowledge gives her an excellent understanding of the issues relating to supported housing and the impact of changes by central government on the individual resident.
Janet has been a Trustee for SSP since February 2018 and is a member of the Risk and Compliance Sub-Committee.
