We’re pleased to share the opening of our new Bury Wellbeing Hub, a fully refurbished space that will play a key role in delivering the Integrated Rehabilitation Service (IRS) locally.
The hub has been developed to bring services together in one place, creating a more joined-up and accessible offer for people on probation and those experiencing disadvantage. By enabling partners to co-locate, the space supports closer collaboration, quicker access to support, and improved outcomes for the people we work with.

The Bury IRS forms part of the wider Greater Manchester contract led by The Big Life Group, delivered across all 10 boroughs by a range of providers. In Bury, we already work alongside a broad network of partners including Probation, Police, NHS services, Citizens Advice, DWP, Jobcentre Plus, housing providers, and a wide range of voluntary and community organisations. The new hub strengthens these relationships and creates new opportunities for integrated working.
The building itself has been designed with both customers and partners in mind. It includes a large boardroom, multiple meeting and interview rooms, and two kitchens to support group activities such as cooking sessions and wellbeing programmes. With space for up to 20 offices, the hub offers significant potential for partners to work alongside each other, helping to create a ‘one stop shop’ where people can access a range of services in one place.
This approach is closely aligned with the ‘Live Well’ vision, bringing services together to reduce barriers, improve access, and support individuals to achieve greater independence and stability. Rather than navigating multiple services and referral pathways, people can access coordinated support more easily and at the right time.
There has already been strong interest from partners keen to co-locate within the hub, reflecting both the need for this kind of provision and the strength of partnership working in Bury.
The official launch of the hub took place on 24th April, with partners and stakeholders invited to attend. The Mayor of Bury formally opened the space, marking an important milestone for the service and a shared commitment to improving outcomes for local people.
As the hub becomes fully operational, we look forward to continuing to build on these partnerships and developing an even stronger, more integrated offer for the community.
