Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham has made a well-publicised pledge to offer A Bed for Every Night (ABEN) for anyone street homeless / rough sleeping in Greater Manchester between 1st November 2018 and 31st March 2019. Rochdale BoroughWide Housing (RBH) is managing Rochdale's element of the project.
Stepping Stone Projects is delighted to have been commissioned to provide an ABEN Supported Housing Worker who will work alongside RBH to coordinate the following:
- All ABEN Referrals (from RBH Homelessness, Petrus Hub or Renaissance House)
- Placements for emergency beds at Redfearn House, Leopold Court, Sanctuary Trust and various other places (let on a night by night basis)
- Placements for two dispersed properties (also let on a night by night basis)
- Support for the clients to be rehoused permanently.
The ABEN project replaces Stepping Stone Projects usual Cold Weather Provision which is offered during periods of sub-zero temperatures.
Stepping Stone Projects has seconded an experienced Support Worker, Sharon Brady, to act as the ABEN Worker from Monday 3 December.
Sharon’s base will be at Redfearn House.
