Full Time Finance Officer – Purchase Ledger

We are very pleased to advise that we are looking to appoint a full time Finance Officer – Purchase Ledger on a permanent basis.

Working within the Finance Team a hardworking, relaxed and friendly department you will oversee the purchase ledger utilities process ensuring accurate and timely postings onto our accounting software. You will have strong interpersonal skills liaising regularly with both internal teams and suppliers for approval and to resolve queries. We are looking for someone with a high level of accuracy and excellent computer skills.

In this role you will support the Finance Team by:

  • Ensuring supplier/utility invoices are promptly processed following deadlines and company procedures in respect of checking liability/authorisation
  • Ensuring the general day to day smooth running of the utilities purchase ledgers, identifying any discrepancies and rectifying as soon as possible
  • Identifying and undertaking improvements to the utilities purchase ledger function
  • Maintaining records regarding utility expenditure including arranging for Supported Housing Workers to obtain meter readings and updating online/utility accounts as required
  • Undertaking complex statement reconciliations using intermediate excel skills
