Stepping Stone Projects is a Tier 1 provider of Floating Support in the North West Care Leavers Framework for all three regions, we are a Tier 2 provider of Floating Support with Accommodation for Greater Manchester and a Tier 1 provider for Lancashire, Merseyside and Cheshire.

What the Service Delivers
The service provides housing related support to care leavers either in their existing accommodation or in accommodation that we will source, provide and furnish in partnership with the client and their social worker. The service is ideal for anyone that would like to live independently but who would like support around developing skills necessary to maintain a tenancy

Who is Eligible for the Service?
The service supports young people leaving care who have been referred by their Social Worker.

What support will I receive?
Support may be offered with issues such as:
• Advice on housing rights and responsibilities.
• Support with applying for Housing Benefit and dealing with rent issues.
• Help accessing specialist services around substance/alcohol issues, where appropriate.
• Help accessing specialist services around mental health issues, where appropriate.
• Help with applying for benefits, grants and loans.
• Help with budgeting, paying bills and debts including rent arrears.
• Help filling in forms.
• Support accessing specialist advice and support agencies.
• Support in accessing employment ,training and college courses.
• Accessing welfare rights advice.
• Support accessing furniture schemes.
• Information on local facilities.
• Access to health care, leisure, transport, support and activity groups.
• Information on basic home maintenance.
• Support to plan meals.

A client will be allocated a support worker who will develop a support plan with the client to address any identified areas of need. Support plans are reviewed at least every 3 months with the client until they are ready to live independently.
